Supply of Grocery Items to the Needy
March 30, 2020Palm Sunday
April 4, 2020Dear Friends,
Jesus challenged the people of Israel to accept his word as the very revelation of God himself. His claim challenged the very foundation of their belief and understanding of God. Jesus makes many great promises in the gospel of John which are the very foundation of his life and mission and we find one of them in today’s gospel reading, ‘whoever keeps my word will never know the taste of death’. Jesus declares that his words are the source of life, and if we listen to his word and try to live by it then we will share in God’s own life, here and now and, more fully, beyond the moment of our physical death. While on earth, he remained with God. Having returned to God through his death and resurrection, he remains with us.
By now we may have realized our home and surrounding is beautiful. We are beginning to see people who are hungry. We pray for the families who are beginning to find themselves in need because of the pandemic. If we act in solidarity during this time of crisis, we can create the future we want to see for ourselves and future generations.
